Why I looked this up

My takeaway is to keep those announcements separate: one establishes when and where the ceremony happens; the other establishes the shortlist announcement date and the size of those two player shortlists. Neither fact, by itself, identifies a winner.

That makes it a historical reference, not evidence of either player’s 2026 nomination. I’m using the year stated in the article rather than guessing from the URL or treating an official search result as automatically current.
The note I came away with is straightforward: October 26 is the confirmed ceremony date, September 8 is the announced nominee-reveal date, and any individual nomination needs its own category-specific, 2026 evidence.
